Hyderabad: In an effort to make curriculum-based learning simple, effective and fun, at the school level, Learnhive Education Private Ltd, a Bangalore-based startup, today announced the introduction of technology-based learning solutions and Smart Learning Cards for kindergarten to 12th standard students, parents, and tutors in the Andhra Pradesh market.
Learnhive is a team of business leaders, educationists, technologists, teachers, instructional designers, software engineers, game developers, graphic designers, and voice artists, funded by angel investors. The company offers comprehensive Mathematics content for Grade 1 to Grade 10 and English and Science content for Grade 1 to Grade 6, for ICSE and CBSE students.
Commenting on the launch of the company and the products, Shiv Shankar, Founder & CEO, Learnhive, said, “Today, majority of the students go through rote learning and fail to understand the concepts. We specialize in providing after-school learning solutions for students, parents, and tutors. Our solutions and products ensure that students learn the subjects and topics in a comprehensive manner through concept illustrations and practice exercises.”
Learnhive’s flagship product, Personal Concept Tutor gives students the flexibility to learn concepts at their own pace using a wide variety of materials and resources suited for their individual needs. The technology is available on multiple devices such as desktops, laptops, tablets and smart phones to make learning more fun, interactive and available to students anywhere and at any time. Using Learnhive Learning Pathway ™technology, Learnhive determines the student’s unique learning needs and recommends lessons and exercises to take them to the next level.
Learnhive launched Smart Learning Cards for Mathematics from class 7 to class 10. A Smart Learning Card provides a quick visual summary about a concept. The unique card organization helps students to understand, revise, and remember concepts with ease. There is no need for the students to carry huge Mathematics textbooks. Students can quickly access online exercises related to concepts described in each learning card.
The product comes in two forms: Retail Pack and App. The Retail Pack consists of a box with printed learning cards. Each retail pack comes with a unique activation code that students can use to activate an online account. App: The Smart Learning Cards are also available as standalone apps for each grade (grades 7 through 10) in Apple and Google App stores.
“It is not easy for a school to cater to a student’s individual needs. School develops a student’s personality through group activities. However, learning is individual-centric. Children have different learning curves and individualized attention outside of school is required. This is where Learnhive assumes importance. Students, parents and tutors, who have used our products are extremely satisfied with the results,” remarked Capt. Unni Krishnan, Founder & Director, Learnhive.
Leading schools in Andhra Pradesh will offer Learnhive Smart Learning Cards to their students. Scholars International School will distribute the learning cards as a part of the textbook collection for the upcoming academic year. “This is a unique initiative, which will help our students improve their academics. Such learning methodology will complement the traditional learning system in the long run. We are extremely happy to partner with Learnhive to distribute their products in our school,” said, Sridhar Thanam, Director, Scholars International School, Hyderabad.
In addition, Learnhive also launched “Learn Basic Colors” and “Learn Basic Shapes” apps for children in the age group of 3 years to 6 years. Each app consists of exercises, learning modules, fun filled games, and tests. While trial versions of the learning kits are available online for free, advanced and subscription-based learning kits are also available. Subscribers will have access to educational content across three consecutive grade levels to help with remedial learning (one grade lower) as well as advance the learning to the next level (one grade higher).
“It is commonly known that students dread mathematics; some even develop fear for studies looking at the size of the text books. We have taken a different approach in ensuring that learning mathematics is easy! It even helps parents and tutors to understand the topics easily and help the students,” said Arindam Nag, Founder & Director, Learnhive.
The Smart Learning Cards are available through retail and e-commerce stores. Learnhive has also identified leading channel partners to promote the products. “There are several growth drivers for our online and retail products, as we are launching them ahead of the next academic year. We expect sales from channel partners to contribute significantly to our growth,” said Mohan Rajamani, Founder & Director, Learnhive.
